The operators of the 8th Regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted an 8-hour battle with the North Korean military. They killed 21 and wounded 40 enemy soldiers, after which the group successfully retreated in a Humvee.

Over the last day, 121 combat engagements took place, 61 of them in the Pokrovsk sector. The enemy carried out 70 air strikes and fired over 6,000 times, using missiles, multiple launch rocket systems and kamikaze drones.

In the case of defective machine guns, 226 weapons were seized, of which 80 were found to be of poor quality. Instead of being repaired or replaced under the terms of the contract, the weapons remain under arrest while the criminal proceedings are ongoing.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully pushed back the enemy near Shevchenko and Udachne. At the same time, Russian troops were able to advance near Velyka Novosilka, Vozdvyzhenka, Slovianka, and Sribne.

The hearing to choose a measure of restraint against Dmytro Ryumshyn, former commander of the 155th Brigade, has been postponed until tomorrow. He is suspected of inactivity due to the unauthorized abandonment of the unit during the EU exercises.

Kyiv's Pecherskyi Court has imposed a 2-month custodial restraint on the former commander of the Kharkiv OTU, Yuriy Galushkin. The alternative is bail in the amount of UAH 5 million.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released data on the losses of Russian troops over the past day. Among the destroyed equipment were 12 tanks, 60 artillery systems and 130 UAVs, with total personnel losses reaching 822,030.

On January 21, around 6 a. m., explosions were reported in Dnipro. Prior to that, an air alert was declared in the Dnipro region due to the threat of Russian ballistic missiles.

Russian troops are intensifying their offensive in the Pokrovsk sector, redeploying additional units from other parts of the front. The daily losses of the occupiers in the area amount to up to 300 people, and the enemy avoids using armored vehicles.

Lawyer Markiyan Bem refuted the accusations against former MOU official Oleksandr Liiev in the case of defective machine guns. The contract was signed half a year before Liiev's appointment.

Increased activity of enemy tactical aviation was recorded in the northeast. The military urges residents of the frontline areas not to ignore air raid warnings and stay in shelters.
