President Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is conducting active operations in the Kursk and Belgorod regions to protect the Ukrainian border area. He emphasized that this is not Ukraine's choice, but a preemptive defense.

During the day of April 13, 125 combat clashes took place at the front. Russian troops carried out 60 air strikes and used 1052 kamikaze drones.

According to Syrskyi, the occupiers' losses since the beginning of the year have already exceeded 177,000. The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to destroy the Russian aggressor.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces congratulated on the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism, emphasizing the importance of unity against the aggressor. He reminded of Ukraine's contribution to peace and its fight against modern tyrants.

Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine's ceasefire proposal remains in effect, but Russia is not responding, continuing attacks.

Since the beginning of May, there have been more than 1,300 combat clashes with Russian occupiers. Syrskyi thanked the units of the Defense Forces for their professional combat work.

The Defense Forces managed to stabilize the situation in the Pokrovsky direction of the Donetsk region, and in some places even seize the tactical initiative. This was reported by General Syrsky.

The 425th Separate Assault Regiment "Skala" is effectively operating in the Pokrovsk direction, stabilizing the situation and intercepting the initiative. The soldiers of the regiment received honorary awards from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Syrskyi stated that the Kursk operation has been ongoing for 9 months and has achieved most of its goals, creating a buffer zone in the border area. Syrskyi awarded soldiers of the 225th Regiment for their successful defense.

The President held a meeting on missile development and acceleration of the creation of Ukrainian ballistics. They also discussed the situation in Donetsk region and the continuation of actions on the territory of Kursk and Belgorod regions.

In March and April 2025, Ukrainian drones hit over 160,000 enemy targets. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Syrskyi noted the increase in the efficiency of UAVs.

In April, the Russian army lost about 35,010 people, which is equivalent to almost three motorized rifle divisions, as well as 1,560 artillery systems, which is 86 artillery divisions.

Ukrainian soldiers restored 115 positions and hit 62 targets on the territory of Russia in April. The transition to the corps system in the army and the scaling of units is also underway.

In April, Ukrainian drones hit more than 83,000 targets, which is 8% more than in March. The effectiveness of the damage increased by 5%, the priority is the UAV direction.

The Rada adopted in the first reading the law №13037, which strengthens the fight against sexual harassment in the Armed Forces. It defines mechanisms for preventing discrimination and violence.

Russian troops have increased the intensity of fighting, focusing their efforts on the Pokrovsky direction, trying to break through the defense and reach the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk region. Syrsky took measures to strengthen the defense.

A fake is spreading online about the preparation of Sumy for surrender to the Russians. The Center for Counteracting Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council reports that this is a lie spread by Russian propagandists to fuel panic.

Since the beginning of the day, 75 combat clashes have taken place, in the Pokrovsk direction – 38 attempts by the enemy to dislodge Ukrainian defenders. Fighting continues in the Kupyansk, Lyman and other directions.

During the day, 133 combat clashes took place. The enemy launched 80 air strikes, carried out 1103 kamikaze drone strikes and 4296 artillery shellings of the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Thanks to the use of unmanned systems, Ukrainian defenders are inflicting significant losses on the occupiers' logistics. In the past week alone, 969 units of enemy equipment were destroyed.

In Ukraine, they are updating the training courses for shooters and snipers, as well as modernizing the basic general military training program, in particular, tactical pre-hospital care.

The situation on the front is difficult, there have been 70 Russian assaults. Most of the fighting is in the Pokrovsky, Kramatorsky, Limansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian troops are operating in the Kursk and Belgorod regions.

Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 1110 Russian soldiers and destroyed 70 artillery systems. Since the beginning of the year, more than 155,000 occupiers have been destroyed.

Russians carried out almost 150 attacks and more than 4,500 shellings in a day, including from heavy weapons. The most difficult situation is in the Pokrovsk direction, where the enemy tried to develop assault operations.

On April 23, Vasyl Pankiv, a fighter of the police rifle battalion, died while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region. He joined the battalion as a volunteer in 2024.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that since the beginning of 2025, Ukrainian defenders have eliminated about 155,000 Russian soldiers. 1,060 occupiers were destroyed in a day on April 23.

Intense fighting continues in Sumy Oblast near the border and in Russia. Russians tried to dislodge the ZSU from Kursk Oblast and seize border territories of Sumy Oblast, but their offensive was thwarted.

As of 00:00 after Easter, Russia violated its ceasefire promise 2935 times. There were 96 assault operations, 1882 shellings, and over 950 uses of FPV drones.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova stated about Ukraine violating the "Easter truce". Meanwhile, Ukraine recorded over 2 thousand violations of this regime by the RF army.

President Zelenskyy reported over 2000 violations of Putin's "truce" by the Russian army as of 8:00 PM. 67 assaults, 1355 shellings, and 673 uses of FPV drones were recorded, mostly in the Pokrovsk direction.
