Under the cover of fog and smoke grenades, the occupiers destroyed some positions of the Defense Forces in Chasovyi Yar and Toretsk. The enemy also conducted assault operations at Pokrovske, Kharkiv and other directions.

There were 117 combat clashes on different parts of the front, with the Russian army most actively attacking in the Pokrovske direction - there have already been 30 battles there. The Ukrainian military successfully repelled most of the enemy's attacks, and some battles are still ongoing.

Ukrainians will celebrate the New Year under cloudy skies with no significant precipitation. Air temperatures will range from 0 to +11°C depending on the region, with the warmest temperatures in Odesa.

The frontline witnessed 153 combat engagements, with the highest number of attacks in the Pokrovsk sector - 39. The most intense fighting continues in the Pokrovske, Kurakhove, Lyman and Vremivske sectors.

As a result of a Russian shelling of the village of Kivshаrivka in the Kupiansk region, a woman who was on the street was killed. A multi-apartment building was also damaged, and law enforcement officers are recording the consequences of the attack.

At night, the occupiers attacked Kharkiv region with “shaheds”, hitting three settlements. Three civilians were injured in the previous shelling and hospitalized.

Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions 133 times in 24 hours, most of them in the Pokrovsk sector - 26 attempts. The enemy suffers significant losses, 19 firefights are still ongoing.

The occupants attacked the settlements of Zaporizhzhia region using 198 UAVs of various types. There were also 5 attacks from multiple rocket launchers and 128 artillery strikes.

In the Kupiansk sector and near Vovchansk, the enemy conducted offensive actions that were repelled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. A civilian was killed in Dvorichna by an enemy drone attack.

There were 149 combat engagements in the frontline, the hottest spot was in the Pokrovsk sector with 48 attacks. Ukrainian defenders destroyed 425 occupants and enemy military equipment.

As of 16:00 on December 28, 82 combat engagements took place in various sectors of the frontline. The highest level of enemy activity was recorded in the Pokrovsk sector, where 33 attack attempts were made.

The European Investment Bank has provided €55 million to Ukraine under EU guarantees to rebuild social infrastructure in 12 regions. The program covers 151 sub-projects, including hospitals, schools, and water supply systems.

There were 162 combat engagements in the frontline, with the largest number of attacks in the Pokrovsk sector (52). The enemy launched 37 air strikes and fired over 5100 times at Ukrainian positions.

Heat supply is being restored in Kharkiv and the region, with 85,000 customers in the city and 27,000 in the region still without heat. Twenty-six people have been evacuated from the danger zone.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration warns of the critical importance of pharmacies in the frontline areas. After the de-occupation, some pharmacies resumed their work, but some were destroyed by shelling again.

There were 100 combat engagements on the frontline, with the highest activity in the Pokrovsk sector - 34 offensive attempts. Ukrainian troops repelled 11 attacks in the Kursk sector.

Russian shelling of Kharkiv region killed two people and wounded four others. More than 20 houses, 12 cars and agricultural machinery were damaged in Zolochiv, Bohodukhiv and Kharkiv districts.

There were 164 combat engagements in the frontline, including 39 assaults in the Pokrovsk sector. The enemy launched 35 air strikes and fired over 4,600 times at Ukrainian positions.

Active and forced evacuations are underway in the Kharkiv region from 44 settlements due to constant shelling. In Kupyansk, 134 people remain on the left bank and 1,300 on the right bank.

A platoon commander of the 211th Pontoon and Bridge Brigade has been notified of being suspected of abusing three soldiers. The suspect, who was beating and humiliating his subordinates from February to May, is currently hiding from the investigation.

There were 114 combat engagements along the frontline over the last day. The most intense fighting continues in the Pokrovske, Lyman and Kurakhove sectors, where the enemy conducted the most attacks.

In Kharkiv, a strike by a Molniya UAV damaged the windows of an apartment building and a car. According to Mayor Igor Terekhov, there were no casualties.

An attack by Russian subversive forces in Saltyne killed one farm worker and wounded two others. A 41-year-old man was injured in Zolochiv.

Russian troops attacked the residential sector of the village of Slatyno, Kharkiv region. Civilians were killed and wounded, and rescue services arrived at the scene.

Following the Christmas Day shelling by the Russian Federation, heat supply is being restored in three regions of Ukraine. 400,000 subscribers in Kharkiv region and half of the houses in Dnipro have already been connected.

Due to the Russian attack on Kharkiv's critical infrastructure, 1,055 apartment buildings are left without heat. More than 10 UAV strikes have been recorded in the region, with casualties and injuries.

Over the last day, 217 combat engagements took place, with the largest number of attacks in the Pokrovsk sector - 57. The enemy launched 73 missile attacks, 17 air strikes and used 2,105 kamikaze drones.

After the missile attack on Kharkiv on December 25, central heating was partially restored in 1378 residential buildings. Utilities continue to restore heating around the clock.

President Zelenskyy talks with Japan's new Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. Japan will provide Ukraine with $3 billion from frozen Russian assets and additional assistance for energy equipment.
