The Rada adopted in the first reading the law №13037, which strengthens the fight against sexual harassment in the Armed Forces. It defines mechanisms for preventing discrimination and violence.

Russian troops have increased the intensity of fighting, focusing their efforts on the Pokrovsky direction, trying to break through the defense and reach the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk region. Syrsky took measures to strengthen the defense.

In Ukraine, they are updating the training courses for shooters and snipers, as well as modernizing the basic general military training program, in particular, tactical pre-hospital care.

The situation on the front is difficult, there have been 70 Russian assaults. Most of the fighting is in the Pokrovsky, Kramatorsky, Limansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian troops are operating in the Kursk and Belgorod regions.

Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 1110 Russian soldiers and destroyed 70 artillery systems. Since the beginning of the year, more than 155,000 occupiers have been destroyed.

Russians carried out almost 150 attacks and more than 4,500 shellings in a day, including from heavy weapons. The most difficult situation is in the Pokrovsk direction, where the enemy tried to develop assault operations.

On April 23, Vasyl Pankiv, a fighter of the police rifle battalion, died while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region. He joined the battalion as a volunteer in 2024.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that since the beginning of 2025, Ukrainian defenders have eliminated about 155,000 Russian soldiers. 1,060 occupiers were destroyed in a day on April 23.

Intense fighting continues in Sumy Oblast near the border and in Russia. Russians tried to dislodge the ZSU from Kursk Oblast and seize border territories of Sumy Oblast, but their offensive was thwarted.

As of 00:00 after Easter, Russia violated its ceasefire promise 2935 times. There were 96 assault operations, 1882 shellings, and over 950 uses of FPV drones.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova stated about Ukraine violating the "Easter truce". Meanwhile, Ukraine recorded over 2 thousand violations of this regime by the RF army.

President Zelenskyy reported over 2000 violations of Putin's "truce" by the Russian army as of 8:00 PM. 67 assaults, 1355 shellings, and 673 uses of FPV drones were recorded, mostly in the Pokrovsk direction.

Starting from 10 a. m. on April 20, Russia increased the number of shellings and drone use, despite Putin's statement about an "Easter truce". Ukraine records all violations and provides information to partners.

Russia announced an "Easter truce" but immediately continued offensive operations and shelling, indicating its violation. According to ISW, the Russian Federation is likely using this for manipulation and seeking to earn US favor.

Russian troops are slightly retreating in the area of Kotlyne in the Pokrovsk direction, despite the enemy's maximum efforts in this sector of the front. Meanwhile, street fighting in Chasiv Yar does not stop.

During the night broadcast, Fox News showed a service of the OCU from Kyiv, mistakenly indicating it as Russia. Later, the channel corrected the label to Kyiv, Ukraine.

Over the past day, 127 combat engagements occurred on the front. In the Pokrovsk direction, the Defense Forces stopped 39 enemy assault actions.

President Zelenskyy reported that Russia is trying to create an impression of silence, but active battles continue at the front. According to Syrskyi, the enemy carried out hundreds of shellings and dozens of assaults recently.

The EU skeptically assessed Putin's statement about the "Easter truce". The European Union stated that Russia must prove its intentions to stop aggression with real actions, as words do not correspond to reality.

Zelenskyy after Syrskyi's report confirmed that the 'silence' regime declared by the Kremlin is not working in the Kursk, Belgorod regions, and on part of the front. Russian strikes continue, and Ukraine's actions will be mirrored.

Over the past day, April 19, 107 combat engagements were recorded on the front. A third of them occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, where the enemy lost 165 occupiers.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russian assaults continue on some parts of the front and artillery fire does not subside. Ukraine does not trust Moscow's words and is ready to respond mirror-like to every strike.

Ukraine will act reciprocally regarding a full ceasefire if Russia adheres to it, and proposes to extend it after April 20. Due to continued attacks, Kyiv does not trust Moscow, stressing that peace requires 30 days, not 30 hours.

Volodymyr Zelensky called Putin's "Easter truce" a game, as Ukraine is being attacked by drones. He also reported on the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Belgorod region.

According to the head of the CMA, the intensity of shelling in Pokrovsk is extremely high, all entrances are controlled by drones. The enemy is hunting people with FPV drones.

Ukrainian soldiers liberated about 16 square kilometers of Donetsk region near Pokrovsk. Syrsky visited the brigades and resolved the issue of supply.
