Donald John Trump is the 45th (January 20, 2017 - January 20, 2021) and 47th (from January 20, 2025) President of the United States of America. Prior to this, he was a real estate entrepreneur, showman, and television host. He has authored a number of books on entrepreneurship. Born in 1946 in New York City to a wealthy family of a contractor of German descent. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2016, he was elected President of the United States. During his first term, he launched a trade war with China. He lost the 2020 presidential election but was re-elected in 2025. He launched a "tariff war" against China, the EU and other countries. He intensified diplomatic efforts to end Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine.
