The occupiers attacked Sumy with Shahed drones, hitting a health care facility and a residential area in the regional center. According to preliminary reports, there are casualties, the exact number and extent of the damage is being clarified.

On the night of September 28, 2024, Ukraine's air defense repelled a large-scale attack. 69 Shahed attack UAVs and 2 X-59/69 guided missiles were destroyed, and 13 regions of Ukraine were attacked.
