Oleksandr Stanislavovych Syrskyi was born on July 26, 1965, in the village of Novynky, Vladimir Oblast (RSFSR). He graduated from the Moscow Higher All-Arms Command School and the National Defense Academy of Ukraine, receiving a military education. He participated in battles in eastern Ukraine, in the defense of Kyiv, and in the counteroffensive in Kharkiv Oblast. Throughout his career, he held various command positions, including being the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since February 8, 2024, he has been the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
