Kamala Harris

Former US Vice President
Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20, 1964, in Oakland, California. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and economics from Howard University in 1986 and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, in 1989. Her mother was an Indian cancer researcher, and her father was a Jamaican economist. Throughout her career, she held positions as District Attorney of San Francisco and Attorney General of California. From 2017 to 2021, she served as a U.S. Senator for California, and from 2021 to 2025, she held the office of the 49th Vice President of the United States. In 2024, she was the Democratic Party's candidate in the presidential election.
