Deputies of Zhytomyr City Council voted to terminate the powers of Mayor Serhiy Sukhomlyn early. He may become the head of the State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development.

On the night of September 19, Ukraine's air defense repelled a large-scale attack. All 42 launched Shahed drones and an X-59/69 guided missile were shot down. The enemy also launched S-300/S-400 missiles at Kharkiv region.

A 29-year-old resident of Brusyliv disappeared on September 10. On September 13, her body with signs of violent death was found in a well on the territory of a private house. The 32-year-old owner disappeared, and the police are looking for him.

Due to the heat wave, electricity consumption in Ukraine will increase, causing a shortage. Scheduled blackouts will take place from 17:00 to 21:00. Electricity is expected to be imported from 5 countries, 498 settlements are without power.

Hot weather is expected in Ukraine on August 18, with temperatures reaching 35-36° in the south. In some places, there may be short-term rains and thunderstorms, especially in the western and central regions.

The Ministry of Energy reported that blackout schedules will not be applied. Due to hostilities and technical disruptions, 486 settlements remain without power supply, and power companies have restored power to 16,033 consumers.

In Ukraine, on August 16-18, heat is forecast to reach +37° in the southern and central regions. In the west and north, short-term rains with thunderstorms are possible, while in other regions it will be mostly without precipitation.

The Cabinet of Ministers has added the parks Mari Zhyzhany and Dobrosyn Invest Park to the Register of Industrial Parks. This will create about 1,250 new jobs in Zhytomyr and Lviv regions and attract investments worth almost UAH 3.6 billion.
