A representative of a law firm was caught trying to bribe a NABU detective and a SAPO prosecutor. The money was offered for transferring the case of Ukrenergo worth UAH 716 million to another investigation body.

Ukrainian lawyers have accused the High Anti-Corruption Court judges of fulfilling the tasks of the SAPO and NABU. The HACC judges considered the case without defense counsel during the air alert.

A key document was “lost” in the NABU case against former Minister Solskyi.

The European Commission noted Ukraine's progress in fighting corruption and the work of anti-corruption bodies. The Commission provided recommendations to strengthen the HACC and protect civil society activists.

According to a poll by Rating, 74% of Ukrainians named the fight against corruption as the most important reform, while only 10% considered customs a priority. 84% of respondents are dissatisfied with the current results of anti-corruption reform.

The poll showed that only 33% of Ukrainians trust NABU and customs, while more than 60% express distrust. Despite the same indicators, the customs is scheduled to be relaunched, while the NABU continues to work unchanged.

The National Guard, the Security Service, and the State Border Guard Service have the highest level of trust among Ukrainians. The judiciary has the lowest level of trust, with only 25% of citizens' confidence.

The NACP cannot confiscate the property of MSEC employees due to legal restrictions. Currently, they can only be held liable for false declarations.

NABU Director Semen Kryvonos insists on creating his own expert institution to conduct independent examinations. The lawyers' community is against it because of the risks of manipulating evidence.

The head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Health, Mykhailo Radutskyi, announced that the draft law on reforming the MSEC will be registered by November 1. The document envisages the complete liquidation of the MSEC from January 1, 2025.

NABU continues to finance “friendly” forensic experts.

Semen Kryvonos said that Gizo Uglava was fired not because of the information leak, but because of his reaction to the accusations. Uglava filed a lawsuit and received the status of a whistleblower at the NACP.

The NACP is investigating a possible conflict of interest in the actions of NABU Director Semen Kryvonos following a statement by Gizo Uglava. The former first deputy director of the NABU accused Kryvonos of putting pressure on him to resign.

NABU Director Kryvonos announced his readiness to appeal a possible court decision to reinstate Gizo Uglava in his position. Uglava had previously accused the NABU leadership of pressure and was granted whistleblower status.

NABU purchased 1000 medals for UAH 75 thousand of budget funds to reward detectives. The winner of the tender was the NBU, which is to deliver the medals by October 30, 2024.

The State Border Guard Service does not rule out possible changes to the border crossing procedure for men with disabilities. The decision is being considered in cooperation with the National Security and Defense Council and other bodies after the discovery of abuses with disability registration.

The NABU has announced a tender for training employees in waste management for UAH 12 thousand. The bureau also plans to spend money on weather stations and air conditioners, despite criticism about efficiency and costs.

The NABU claims to have brought 1500 people to justice over the years. However, opinion polls show that almost 60% of Ukrainians do not trust the anti-corruption agency.

The NABU plans to purchase 187 laptops for UAH 7. 5 million for its employees. The NABU also wants to purchase air conditioners with heating for almost UAH 1.3 million

Journalist Volodymyr Boyko accused Vitaliy Shabunin of obtaining the status of a combatant without actually serving.

The SAPO has served a notice of suspicion to the MP of illicit enrichment of over UAH 20 million. With these funds, the MP purchased a house near Odesa, where she lives.

The Prosecutor General has ordered an internal investigation into prosecutors in Khmelnytsky region over information about unlawful disability payments. The investigation will cover 50 prosecutors and other prosecutorial bodies.

Almost 60% of Ukrainians do not trust the NABU and the SAPO, according to a poll by the Razumkov Center. The level of distrust has increased compared to the previous survey, which is attributed to the lack of verdicts in high-profile cases.
