Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has authorized 17 models of demining equipment, including 5 of domestic production. These include track trawls, demining vehicles, demining kits and metal detectors.
The President of Ukraine chaired a meeting of the Cabinet to discuss the situation at the front and Russia's assistance in the war. They also reviewed investments of partners in the Ukrainian defense industry and contracting for the army.
The Defense Ministry reported 804 applications to army recruitment centers over the past week. A total of 20,954 citizens applied to the centers, of which 5,230 became candidates for the Defense Forces.
The Brave1 platform has 3,000 registered companies, 99% of which were established after 2022. The platform provides grants and expertise for the development of defense technologies, including missiles and ammunition.
The Army+ mobile app will get new features, including a training module and a digital military ID card. Reserve+ will have a recruitment service for viewing vacancies in military units.
The Deputy Minister of Defense announced the launch of new services in the Reserve+ application. They will allow to apply for a deferment for conscripts and conduct online recruitment.
Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced the creation of supervisory boards for the Defense Procurement Agency and the State Logistics Operator. There were also personnel changes: new deputy ministers were appointed.
The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Balanutsa from the post of Deputy Defense Minister on Umerov's recommendation. He was replaced by Boev, who will be responsible for European integration.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine appealed to the SBU to check possible falsification of documents by a supplier of food for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The SBU detected signs of forgery of accompanying documents for canned food delivered to a military unit in Sumy region.
The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk as Deputy Defense Minister. Melnyk has management experience in the military-legal sphere and participated in the defense of Kharkiv.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced that 70 new engineering equipment has been put into service in the Defense Forces since the beginning of 2024. 47 of them are of domestic production, 23 are foreign, which indicates the revival of weapons production in Ukraine.
The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Serhiy Boyev as Deputy Defense Minister for European Integration. Boev, 41, has experience working for state-owned companies and international banks and holds an MBA from the Wharton School.
In 9 months of 2024, the Ministry of Defense authorized the use of more than 140 unmanned aerial vehicles and 33 ground robotic systems made in Ukraine. This is significantly higher than in 2023.
The Verkhovna Rada passed a law allowing foreigners and stateless persons to serve as officers in the Armed Forces, the National Guard, and other military formations. The law also provides for the establishment of a foreigner recruitment center.
“Ukrposhta has delivered more than 20,000 calls for service to persons liable for military service. CEO Ihor Smelyansky said that the calls are still being delivered today, each of them is numbered and protected.
Since the beginning of the year, the Defense Forces have received 175 new vehicles, including 76 of domestic production. The new vehicles include electric motorcycles, amphibians, pickup trucks, tactical vehicles and other specialized equipment.
The Cabinet of Ministers plans to make changes to the reservation of employees from conscription. It is planned to cancel unjustified deferrals and suspend the powers of some bodies to identify critical enterprises.
The 41st recruitment center of the Ukrainian army has been opened in Kamianets-Podilskyi. The center will be open from Monday to Friday, providing consultations and the opportunity to voluntarily join the Defense Forces.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has developed a technical description of a new model, the Universal Field Tent (Type 2). Manufacturers are invited to join military trials by providing at least 10 units of tents.
The NACP checked 734 declarations of officials, of which only 1 had no violations. 46% of the verified declarations contained violations totaling UAH 1.86 billion.
The Ukrainian military has been given the opportunity to submit electronic reports through the Army+ app. The General Staff plans to expand the functionality by adding military training and new types of reports.
The Cabinet of Ministers has introduced new mobilization rules starting October 1, 2024. Commanders of military units will be able to call up volunteers without the involvement of the Military Commissariat, which should increase motivation and improve recruitment.
20,150 people applied to the Ukrainian army recruitment centers. 5,091 are being considered as candidates, 1,726 have started service or will soon join the army, and the centers offer more than 10,000 vacancies.
In a month, Ukraine will launch a digital project called the Library of Components for arms manufacturers. This will facilitate the search for the necessary parts and communication between manufacturers.
The head of the Verkhovna Rada Tax Committee, Danylo Hetmantsev, ignores the accusations against his protege at the State Tax Service, Yevhen Sokur. Sokur may be involved in entering false data in the declaration and abuse of office.
There were 99 combat engagements in the frontline. The most intense fighting took place in the Pokrovsk sector, where the enemy carried out 19 assault operations, losing 126 killed and 157 wounded.
President Zelenskyy had a conversation with Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi on the situation at the front. Next week, the military will work with partners on the details of the Victory Plan, which will be presented at the Ramstein meeting.
Russian troops continue to storm Ukrainian positions in several areas. Most attacks were repelled in the Liman and Pokrovsk sectors, where intense fighting continues.
The Russians were most active in the Pokrovske and Kurakhove sectors, conducting 69 air strikes and firing over 3,590 rounds of fire.
