Mark Carney

Canadian economist and politician (born 1965)
Mark Joseph Carney was born on March 16, 1965, in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, Canada. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard University in 1988, and a Master's (1993) and Doctorate (1995) in Economics from Oxford University. Before entering public service, he spent thirteen years at Goldman Sachs, holding various senior positions, and also served as Governor of the Bank of Canada (2008-2013) and the Bank of England (2013-2020), as well as the UN Special Envoy for Climate Action and Finance. He is currently the 24th Prime Minister of Canada, having assumed the position in March 2025.
