In fact, the path for Trump to run for a third term - and possibly a fourth until January 2037, when he turns 90 - is not only possible, but simple, thanks to a clear loophole in the amendment.
It is noted that the implementation of this goal will not require an entire army of lawyers, instead, this step will depend only on the interpretation of one word - "election" - in the 22nd Amendment and the loyalty of one person - US Vice President Jay Dee Vance. In addition, Trump needs to have enough public support to win a third term in the election.
The full text of the 22nd Amendment reads as follows: "No person shall be elected to the office of President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once."
