The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has presented a draft of the updated State Standard for Primary Education, which takes into account the challenges of war and distance learning. Ukraine offers a simplified procedure for entering universities for youth from temporarily occupied territories, regardless of the availability of Ukrainian documents. Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mykhailo Vynnytskyi refuted information about the failed NMT-2025, stating that the results have improved compared to last year. In particular, the percentage of those who failed mathematics decreased from 14% to 11.5%.
The number of schoolchildren in Ukraine has reached its lowest level in 30 years, due to the mass departure of high school students abroad. It is estimated that up to 720,000 Ukrainian schoolchildren are currently outside the country.
The results of 13 out of 17 main sessions of NMT 2024 have been published, covering over 218 thousand participants. 2414 applicants received 200 points in at least one subject, three of them — in all four.
The Ministry of Education and Science is launching the admission campaign to vocational schools from July 1, inviting young people, veterans, and IDPs to acquire in-demand professions. Admission is available on a budget and contract basis, with the duration of study ranging from 6 months to 3 years.
According to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science dated June 20, 2025, the subject "Defense of Ukraine" will have 2 hours per week for grades 10-11. The changes come into effect at the beginning of the 2025–2026 academic year.
