Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko called on EU partners to submit nominations for the supervisory board of Energoatom. This is part of comprehensive measures to renew the management of Ukraine's entire energy system.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved an action plan to renew the composition of supervisory boards and executive bodies of state-owned companies in the fuel and energy complex. This involves forming new management through the renewal of supervisory boards of all state-owned companies in the energy sector.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the start of a reboot of key state-owned energy enterprises, including Energoatom, Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine, and Naftogaz. This involves updating management and a full audit of the financial activities of these companies.
The Cabinet of Ministers has ordered a comprehensive audit of all the largest state-owned enterprises, particularly in the energy and defense industries. The supervisory boards of the companies, including Naftogaz, Ukroboronprom, and Ukrzaliznytsia, are to analyze the activities of the executive bodies.
A People's Deputy from the energy committee stated that there is no need to raise electricity prices for the population in 2026. The only factor that can affect tariffs is Russian attacks on the energy system.
The government has simplified procedures for private oil and gas production enterprises. Ukraine will receive $70 million from the World Bank to purchase solar panels for generating facilities.
The Prime Minister stated that Russian attacks have led to the loss of almost 50% of gas production. To compensate for these losses, Ukraine is actively working on gas imports.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that partners have confirmed the provision of over $39 billion in budget support to Ukraine in 2025. He also emphasized the importance of confiscating Russian assets.
The Government has approved the candidacies of Yuriy Boyko, Anatoliy Hulei and Oleksiy Nikitin as representatives of the state in the Supervisory Board of Ukrenergo. Boyko was already a member of the previous board and is an advisor to the Prime Minister.
“Ukrhydroenergo has dropped its lawsuit against Russia over the destroyed Kakhovka HPP. The company will hold additional consultations with the government to determine the most appropriate course of action in line with the national strategy.
Ukrhydroenergo has announced the procurement of legal services for international arbitration regarding Kakhovka HPP. The expected value is UAH 365 million, and the term of services is until the end of 2031.
The Deputy Energy Minister said that there are no plans to raise the electricity tariff to UAH 7. The current tariff of 4.32 UAH/kWh covers the cost of production and remains one of the lowest in Europe.
