Both leaders exchanged hugs and a handshake upon meeting and held brief talks while walking.
The President is expected to participate in a special G7-Ukraine session today.
In addition, bilateral meetings are scheduled with summit participants: German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Other meetings are also planned, according to the Office of the President.
