Five countries have confirmed contributions to the PURL program for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Norway is allocating over $500 million for drones, and the Netherlands €200 million.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard a report from the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov on the results of a new meeting in the "Ramstein" format - decisions on new contributions to the PURL program from five partners have been confirmed, UNN reports.
There are important results from the new meeting in the "Ramstein" format – exactly what we are agreeing on with the leaders is now being implemented. I have just received a report from the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.
According to him, partners at "Ramstein" noted Ukraine's strong positions on the battlefield. There is also a clear understanding of our needs in air defense and in joint weapons production. The main thing is that every announced commitment is fully and timely fulfilled. When Ukraine's defense is sufficient, Russia has no opportunity to truly achieve its occupation goals.
Decisions on new contributions to the PURL program from five partners have been confirmed. I thank Germany for continuing our work on air defense and Ukrainian deep strike capabilities. I thank Britain for continuing work on supplying necessary drones, and it is important that we continue to develop joint capabilities. Norway – more than 500 million dollars for providing brigades with drones, as well as 150 million dollars for strengthening our logistics. The Netherlands – more than 200 million euros for drones. Thank you. I am grateful to Spain for its tangible readiness to work within the framework of the European SAFE program, which will allow us to scale our joint defense capabilities. I am grateful to Canada for another strengthening of specific defense areas. Belgium will allocate additional funds for the supply of shells and strengthening our air defense. Thank you. I am grateful to Lithuania and Estonia for their contributions to the PURL program.
The Head of State added that partners continue to be informed about the current needs of our defense and opportunities to pressure Russia for peace.
