An atmospheric front will arrive in Ukraine on Friday, bringing rain and lower temperatures. Frosts are possible in the west, and after the weekend, a real autumn with cold nights is expected.

On the night of October 10, 2024, Russia attacked Ukraine with missiles and drones. The Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 41 enemy UAVs and continue to counter the attack, there are damages.

The Ombudsman initiates amendments to the Criminal Code to increase liability for attacks on the military and their property. Since the beginning of the year, 266 arson attacks on military and volunteer vehicles have been recorded in different regions of Ukraine.

The SBU CI detained a 23-year-old FSB informant who was operating in Donetsk and Sumy regions. The offender reconnoitered the positions of Ukrainian troops and adjusted the occupiers' air attacks, he was recruited through a “honey trap”.

The situation at the front remains difficult. The enemy is attacking, using its superiority in manpower and equipment. Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding back the onslaught, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

In Sumy, the aftermath of Sunday's drone attack continues. Forty-six residential buildings and three educational institutions were damaged, one victim is in the hospital, and 50 applications for medical examinations and 92 for compensation have been filed.

The sound of an explosion was heard in the city of Sumy. The city and regional authorities have not yet commented on the information, and the Air Force has previously warned of a possible launch of an unexploded aerial vehicle in the direction of Sumy region.

In 2024, Russia used more than 1,000 munitions against Ukraine's energy facilities. The loss of energy capacity exceeds 9 GW, which is equivalent to the electricity supply of four EU countries.

In the frontline, 99 combat engagements were registered since the beginning of the day. The most active fighting continues in the Pokrovske and Kurakhove sectors, where the enemy made 19 and 24 attacks respectively.

In September, Russia fired over 3,500 times at Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. Most of the attacks took place in Sumy region, where the enemy is actively using aviation and attack UAVs.

Starting Friday, a new atmospheric front from the west will arrive in Ukraine. It will bring heavy rains over the weekend, which will gradually move from the west to the east of the country.

In Chernihiv region, 2 explosions occurred overnight due to drone attacks. A total of 73 attacks (251 explosions) were recorded in the border areas, with no civilian casualties.

Russian troops fired 32 times at the border areas of Sumy region. There were 34 explosions in 7 communities, mostly from adjusted aerial bombs and mortars.

The General Staff reported 172 combat engagements over the day. The most intense fighting took place in the Pokrovske and Kurakhove directions, where the enemy launched 63 attacks. Defense forces continue operations in the Kursk region.

Rains are expected on the Left Bank and in the East of Ukraine, fog in the West. The temperature at night will be 3-13°, during the day 12-21°. West and south wind, 7-12 m/s, gusts up to 20 m/s in some places.

Today in Kyiv region it is cloudy with clearings, no precipitation. The temperature will be 12-17°C, in Kyiv 15-17°C, westerly wind of 7-12 m/s, in the morning it was 9°C in the capital.

An explosion was heard in the city of Sumy. Earlier, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces warned of possible launches of enemy guided bombs at the Sumy region.

On the night of October 7, Russia attacked Ukraine with more than 80 air targets, including Kinzhal missiles. Air defense forces shot down 34 targets, including 2 Kinzhal and 32 attack UAVs.

On October 6, the occupiers attacked Sumy with a drone, injuring 4 people and damaging houses. On October 7, two brothers were killed in the shelling of the Novoslobidsk community and a private house was damaged.

The SBGS spokesperson reported active attempts by the enemy to storm border guard positions in some parts of the frontline. The border guards have combat brigades with experience and weapons to counter the attacks.

At night and in the morning, Russians fired 18 times at the border areas of Sumy region, 49 explosions were recorded. In the Sumy community, 4 civilians, including a child, were wounded as a result of a Geranium-2 UAV attack.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported 141 combat engagements over the past day. The most active enemy attacks took place in the Pokrovske and Kurakhove directions, where 39 enemy assaults took place.

Russian troops continue to storm Ukrainian positions in several areas. Most attacks were repelled in the Liman and Pokrovsk sectors, where intense fighting continues.

The President noted the resilience and dedication of the TRO soldiers in defending the state. Zelenskyy thanked for the destruction of the enemy and honored the memory of those who died in the battles for Ukraine.

In Sumy region, 10 explosions were recorded as a result of Russian attacks on 4 border communities. The enemy used mortars, KABs and FPV drones, and Ukrainian forces shot down 5 Shaheds.

There were 169 combat engagements in 10 key sectors over the last day. Most attacks were recorded in the Pokrovske (30) and Kurakhove (26) sectors, with the enemy actively using aviation and drones.

In the River community of Sumy region, the Russian military dropped an explosive device from a drone on a bus. The attack injured three civilians and damaged the vehicle.

The SBU, together with other law enforcement agencies, is conducting security measures in Sumy. The goal is to prevent threats and improve the safety of citizens in the context of Russian aggression.

According to the General Staff, 159 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the past day. The enemy launched 3 missile and 82 air strikes, fired over 4,400 times, including 161 times from multiple rocket launchers.

President Zelensky met with representatives of Sumy region communities. They discussed strengthening air defense, rebuilding energy facilities and enterprises, compensation for farmers, and the Victory Plan.
