In 2024, 255,000 hectares of land were demined in Ukraine, but another 1-1.5 million hectares need to be cleared. There are 59 demining teams working on demining, and another 60 are being accredited.
About 255,000 hectares of land were demined in 2024, but about 1-1.5 million hectares of land need to be demined, said Denys Marchuk, deputy chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, during a briefing, UNN reports .

According to the information, there are currently more than 59 officially registered demining groups, including foreign ones. And about 60 groups are undergoing accreditation, which could mean faster demining.
The only problem that, in my opinion, has halted this process is that about UAH 3 billion was allocated in 2024 to make demining faster. In fact, only a few have used this support
According to the expert, only UAH 1 billion has been allocated for demining in 2025.
We hope that professional demining groups representing foreign campaigns will be able to bring foreign funds to sponsor this work. Because in fact, the figure of 255,000 seems to be not small, but in the context of the work being carried out in the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv directions, there are still about 1-1.5 million hectares to be cleared of mines
