A rescue center for lions evacuated from the Ukrainian border was opened in Britain
Kyiv • UNN
The Lion Rescue Center in England has sheltered five lions evacuated from Ukraine. Animals that survived the horrors of war are now safe and adapting to new conditions.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom Valeriy Zaluzhny showed photos of Ukrainian lions that were evacuated from the Ukrainian border to the English county of Kent. This was reported by UNN.
Many animals in Ukraine, due to hostilities, found themselves in hunger and cold, without supervision. Noble work was carried out by volunteers, veterinarians and the entire team of The Big Cat Sanctuary, which created a new home for Ukrainian animals. Now they are safe. And I will show you here how they look
Five rescued Ukrainian animals live in the British Lion Rescue Center. These are African lionesses Amani, Lira, Wanda, Yuna and lion Rory.

Yuna was imprisoned in a small brick cell and suffered a concussion after rocket fragments fell near her enclosure. Rory was badly treated in a private zoo. Amani and Lira were probably raised for tourist photos. Wanda was found severely malnourished after spending her life in an apartment.

They all survived a terrible experience near the front line. The lions were rescued by the Wild Animal Rescue Center, which is run by Ukrainian Natalia Popova.

After that, the animals were taken to temporary shelters in Belgium, and then the lions arrived at the English big cat reserve. Employees say that the new residents are adapting well to their enclosures, which are designed to meet the individual needs of each lion.
