Zelensky appointed Nechytailo as ambassador to China, and Melnyk as Ukraine's representative to the UN

Oleksandr Nechytailo became the ambassador to China, and Andriy Melnyk became the representative to the UN. There were also changes in the embassies of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and others.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a number of decrees on the appointment of ambassadors. In particular, Oleksandr Nechytailo has been appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to China, and Andriy Melnyk has been appointed Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, reports UNN.

By Decree №218/2025, Zelenskyy appointed Oleksiy Gavrysh as Ambassador of Ukraine to Norway.
By Decree №217/2025, Oleksandr Nechytailo was appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to China, who from June 2016 to May 2022 was Ambassador to Malaysia, as well as Ambassador to the Philippines concurrently (September 2017 - May 2022).
The President also appointed the Ambassador of Ukraine to Argentina, Yuriy Klymenko, as Ambassador to Paraguay concurrently by Decree №216/2025.
Zelenskyy also dismissed Andriy Melnyk from the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to Brazil and appointed him as the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations.
Changes have taken place in the embassies of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. Thus, Zelenskyy dismissed Viktor Maiko from the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkmenistan and appointed him as Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
Former Ambassador of Ukraine to Denmark Mykhailo Vydoinyk has been appointed Ambassador to Finland. Prior to this, the President dismissed Olha Dibrova from the post of Ambassador to Finland and Ambassador to Iceland, where she worked concurrently.
Zelenskyy also appointed the former Consul General of Ukraine in Milan, Roman Horyainov, as Ambassador to Lebanon.
