A lecturer at a Kharkiv university will stand trial for high treason - Prosecutor General's Office

Prosecutors of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office have filed an indictment in court against a senior English language lecturer at one of Kharkiv's universities who, according to the investigation, collected intelligence for the Russian special service. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, UNN informs.

It is noted that, according to the investigation, the woman was a supporter of the "Russian world" and had repeatedly visited the Russian Federation. During one of these trips, she was likely recruited by representatives of the enemy special service.

In the autumn of 2023, she established contact via Telegram with representatives of the special service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and agreed to carry out their assignments. The accused collected data on the locations and movements of Ukrainian military personnel in Kharkiv, transmitting them in the form of photos, videos, map screenshots, and text messages. This information could have been used to launch strikes against the positions of the Defense Forces,

It is indicated that for the sake of conspiracy, the woman used a separate phone, corresponded in English, and regularly deleted messages.

Law enforcement officers detained her and took her into custody. An indictment has been sent to court on the fact of high treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),
