Great Britain has warned Russians of "serious consequences" in case of sabotage of the British underwater network. The country's Minister of Defense, John Healey, noted that operations against Russian submarines, which involved more than 500 British servicemen, lasted more than a month and have now been completed. Recently, the British military uncovered a secret operation of Russian submarines in and near British waters in the North Atlantic.
As noted by the British government, servicemen of the United Kingdom forced the Russians to cease actions that violate international law.
To President Putin, I say: we see you, we see your activity over our cables and pipelines, and you should know that any attempt to damage them will not be tolerated and will have serious consequences.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha reacted to London's actions by making a post on the social network "X".
Russian covert operations in the North Atlantic, exposed today by Great Britain, demonstrate the acute regional and global threats posed by the Russian regime. We highly appreciate the vigilance and determination of our British partners. Exposing Russia's sinister actions is one of the most effective ways to counter them.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine also called on the international community to abandon any illusions about Moscow. He added that the Russian regime must be deterred, isolated, and mercilessly sanctioned to counter its aggressive ambitions.
