U.S. President Donald Trump held a closed-door meeting at the White House with advisors regarding a potential deal with Iran, which involves extending the ceasefire and beginning negotiations on Tehran's nuclear program. This was reported by CNN, according to UNN.

Before the meeting, Trump stated he was ready to make a "final decision" regarding preliminary agreements between Washington and Tehran. According to CNN, the discussion in the White House Situation Room lasted about two hours; however, no official statements or decisions were released following its conclusion.
Iran claims contacts are ongoing
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei reported that contacts between Tehran and Washington are continuing, but a memorandum of understanding between the parties has not yet been signed. Additionally, there is currently no confirmation that the potential deal has been approved by Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
Against this backdrop, the Persian Gulf Administration, responsible for monitoring shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, stated its intention to continue operations despite recent U.S. sanctions. Meanwhile, international economic organizations warn that instability in the region is already affecting global fuel and fertilizer prices.
Tensions persist in Lebanon
In parallel, the escalation in southern Lebanon continues. Israel claims to be expanding operations against the Iran-backed group Hezbollah. According to UNICEF, an average of 11 children have been killed or injured daily due to hostilities over the past week.
Furthermore, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone conversation with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. The Lebanese leader emphasized the need to achieve a ceasefire, while Rubio stated that the responsibility for the continued hostilities lies with Hezbollah.
