The US has added Colombia's largest cocaine cartel to its list of terrorist organizations and threatened to use "all available means" against such groups they are targeting across Latin America.
As Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated: "The 'Clan del Golfo' cartel is 'a brutal and powerful criminal organization with thousands of members'."
It is noted that since returning to office this year, President Donald Trump has added numerous criminal groups to the list of foreign terrorist organizations, including Venezuela's "Tren de Aragua."
Earlier, Trump suggested that the US would "very soon" begin pursuing cartels on land in Venezuela and beyond, continuing a campaign that has so far focused on vessels suspected of human trafficking in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific.

The US plans to intercept more ships carrying Venezuelan oil after seizing a tanker this week, as it increases pressure on Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
