Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with 120 drones, striking Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia with ballistic missiles and Zircon missiles; 98 unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down or suppressed, the Ukrainian Air Force said on Tuesday, without specifying the number of missiles launched by the Russian Federation, UNN reports.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, during the night of August 11 (from 18:00 on August 10), the enemy attacked Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv with Zircon anti-ship missiles and Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Kursk, Rostov, Voronezh and Oryol regions, and also attacked Ukraine with 120 Shahed-type attack UAVs (most of them jet-powered), Gerbera UAVs and Parody-type decoy drones from the following directions: Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russian Federation, temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region, Hvardiiske – temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
"The main direction of the strike was Kyiv region and Zaporizhzhia," the statement said.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense forces had shot down/suppressed 98 enemy Shahed-type UAVs, Gerbera UAVs and drones of other types in the north, south and east of the country. Hits by the enemy's means of air attack were recorded at 21 locations, as well as the fall of downed targets (debris) at 5 locations
The attack is ongoing; several enemy UAVs remain in the airspace.
