Iran's Attack on Israel: How the EU and European Countries Reacted

Iran launched a massive attack on Israel, using about 300 drones and missiles. This provoked strong condemnation from the EU and European countries.

After Iran's massive attack on Israel, EU and European leaders strongly condemned the actions of the aggressor country. All of them expressed their condemnation and support for Israel, UNN reports .

"The EU strongly condemns Iran's unacceptable attack on Israel. This is an unprecedented escalation and a serious threat to regional security," wrote EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell in his Xth statement. 

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also commented on the attack.

"I strongly condemn Iran's blatant and unjustified attack on Israel, and I call on Iran and its proxies to cease these attacks immediately.All parties involved must now refrain from further escalation and work to restore stability to the region," she wrote.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock also condemned Iran's actions.

"Iran has fired drones and missiles at Israel. We strongly condemn the current attack, which could plunge the entire region into chaos. Iran and its proxies must stop it immediately. In these hours, our full solidarity is with Israel," Annalena commented.

In addition, according to the German Foreign Ministry, after a large-scale Iranian attack on Israel in Berlin on Sunday, April 14, the Ministry is convening a crisis headquarters.

France also strongly condemned Iran's attack on Israel.

"By taking such an unprecedented action, Iran is taking a new step in its destabilizing actions and taking the risk of military escalation. France reaffirms its commitment to Israel's security and assures it of its solidarity," wrote French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk also commented on the situation.

"The situation in the Middle East does not pose a direct threat to Poland at the moment. But the world is on the brink. Therefore, the Polish state must have a strong, solidarity-based society, a well-trained army and a stable international position. Security comes first!" - he said.

"Strongly condemn Iran's nightly attacks on Israel. They are unacceptable and unjustified. There is no need for escalation in the Middle East!" - wrote Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda in X.
