German brigade conducted first military exercises in Lithuania near the border with Belarus

Near the border with Belarus, 2,900 NATO troops conducted their first exercises. The unit utilizes 300 drones and incorporates combat experience from the war in Ukraine.
A German tank brigade, deployed in Lithuania in response to growing threats from Russia, has conducted its first combat exercises on the territory of the Baltic country. This was reported by DW, according to UNN.

The exercises took place at the Pabradė training ground, located approximately 15 kilometers from the border with Belarus. About 2,900 military personnel and 800 pieces of equipment from eight NATO countries are participating in the maneuvers.
The brigade takes into account the experience of the war in Ukraine
The unit commander, Christoph Huber, called the exercise an important step toward the brigade's full combat readiness.
According to him, the military is taking into account the lessons of the modern war in Ukraine and is preparing for future conflicts, rather than scenarios of past wars.
Germany strengthens NATO's eastern flank
The Bundeswehr also deployed more than 300 drones during the exercises, reflecting a shift in combat approaches based on the experience of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Germany established the brigade to strengthen NATO's eastern flank. By 2027, the unit is expected to consist of approximately 4,800 military personnel and 200 civilian employees. Lithuania borders Belarus and the Russian Kaliningrad region, making the region one of the Alliance's key defense areas.
