Electricity consumption is rising in Ukraine amid the use of air conditioners due to warm weather; no blackouts are planned, but savings are needed during the evening peak. Enemy attacks have cut off power to residents in 5 regions, the Ministry of Energy and NPC Ukrenergo reported on Thursday, UNN writes.

Enemy attacks

"As a result of shelling of energy infrastructure facilities, some consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions temporarily remain without electricity supply," the Ministry of Energy said in a statement.

Energy workers are working in an intensified mode to restore electricity supply to all subscribers as quickly as possible. Restoration work continues around the clock.

Will there be schedules

"The application of restrictions is not predicted today," the Ministry of Energy noted.

However, they noted that active energy consumption today should be shifted to daytime hours - from 10:00 to 17:00. "In the evening hours, we ask consumers, if possible, to use electricity sparingly - from 18:00 to 22:00. This helps reduce the load on the system," the ministry indicated.

According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption is showing an upward trend amid hot weather in most regions, which causes consumers to use air conditioners in cooling mode.

Yesterday, May 6, the daily peak of consumption was recorded in the evening.
