President Zelenskyy signed decrees on sanctions to synchronize with the EU's 20th package. Control over the implementation of the decisions has been assigned to Rustem Umerov.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed two decrees enacting the decisions of the National Security and Defense Council regarding the application of new sanctions against individuals and legal entities, UNN reports.

These are decrees No. 447/2026 and No. 448/2026 dated May 29, 2026. The documents synchronize Ukraine's sanctions policy with the European Union's 20th package of sanctions against Russia.
Both NSDC decisions provide for the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures to individuals and legal entities, the list of which is contained in the relevant annexes to the government orders.
Control over the implementation of the decisions is vested in the Secretary of the NSDC, Rustem Umerov.
The Cabinet of Ministers, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), and the National Bank are to ensure the implementation and monitoring of the effectiveness of the sanctions. Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to inform the competent authorities of the EU, the US, and other states about the introduction of the restrictions.
The decrees enter into force on the day of their official publication.
