Kaja Kallas announced the preparation of new restrictions to pressure the Kremlin. She described Russia's threats against diplomats in Kyiv as the declaration of a war crime.

The European Union is preparing new sanctions against Russia to force the Kremlin to move from the imitation of negotiations to a real dialogue on ending the war against Ukraine. This was stated by EU High Representative Kaja Kallas after a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Limassol, UNN reports.

"We are preparing new sanctions against Russia to truly pressure it and force it to move from pretending to negotiate to actually coming to the negotiating table,"
According to her, EU ministers also discussed how to increase global pressure on Moscow.
"Too many countries continue to do business with Russia while simultaneously enjoying privileged access to European markets and investments,"
Kallas added that the EU must use trade mechanisms, investments, and market access more effectively to increase pressure on Russia.
Separately, the head of European diplomacy called Moscow's threats against foreign diplomats in Kyiv a "public announcement of a war crime."
