Merz should spend more time resolving the war in Ukraine and interfere less in Iran's affairs - Trump
Kyiv • UNN
Donald Trump urged the German Chancellor to pay more attention to the war in Ukraine. He also threatened to reduce the number of American troops.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz should pay more attention to ending the war in Ukraine and less to interfering in the affairs of those who are ridding the world of the nuclear threat from Iran. Trump wrote this on his social network Truth Social, UNN reports.
The German Chancellor should spend more time ending the war between Russia and Ukraine (where he has proven to be completely ineffective) and putting his own shaky country in order, especially on issues of immigration and energy, and less time interfering with those who are ridding the world of the nuclear threat from Iran, thereby making the world, including Germany, a safer place
Addendum
Trump threatened to reduce U.S. troops in Germany amid the conflict with Merz.
On April 27, Merz criticized U.S. policy toward Iran, citing a lack of a clear strategy from Washington and noting that the Iranian leadership is "humiliating" the U.S. during negotiations.
Trump responded to Merz's position on Iran, stating that "he doesn't know what he's talking about."
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz emphasized the connection with the U.S. and NATO during a visit to the army on Thursday, without directly responding to the U.S. President's comments made the previous evening.
