The Cabinet of Ministers has extended the implementation of the experimental project for registering a marriage through the "Diia" app for another two years. The resolution enters into force on August 15, 2026.

In Ukraine, the government has extended the implementation of the experimental project for concluding a marriage through the "Diia" mobile application. The project will remain in effect for another two years. This is reported by UNN, with reference to the government's decision .

Details

According to Resolution No. 994, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine resolves to "agree with the proposal of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Digital Transformation regarding the implementation of an experimental project for concluding a marriage in electronic form using the Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services, in particular through the use of the mobile application of the Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services (Diia) (hereinafter — the experimental project), for two years from the day following the date of publication of this resolution".

Participants in the project may be Ukrainian citizens aged 18 or older who have a taxpayer registration number and a passport of a citizen of Ukraine or a foreign passport issued using the Unified State Demographic Register.

State registration of marriage in electronic form will be carried out by civil status registration offices designated by the Ministry of Justice.

The resolution enters into force on August 15, 2026.

Reminder

During the 11 months of 2025, 24,261 couples used the "Online Marriage" service from the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Digital civil status registration offices in Kyiv, Dnipro and Lviv provide fast and remote marriage registration, including for military personnel through a simplified procedure.
