Ukraine continues to support the Sudanese people with grain supplies as part of the "Grain from Ukraine" initiative

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Friday that another batch of Ukrainian grain has been delivered to Sudan, UNN reports.

This week, the Grain from Ukraine initiative, our Sudanese partners and the UN World Food Program delivered another shipment of Ukrainian grain to Sudan, which will allow us to provide monthly assistance to 2 million people facing acute hunger and food insecurity

The President emphasized that Ukraine continues to support the Sudanese people even as it defends itself against Russian aggression at home. "This is our guiding principle: we do not only seek help from the world, but also help others in the world," he emphasized.

"The Grain From Ukraine initiative will continue to deliver new cargoes to more countries to alleviate the food crisis and help those in need," Zelensky said.

The President noted that food security was an important component of the Ukrainian Formula for Peace, "as we consider it one of the key principles of global stability". "We call on all countries to join the implementation of the Peace Formula and take part in the upcoming Peace Summit in Switzerland," the Head of State noted.

"We also call on all countries to condemn Russia's terrorist attacks on Ukrainian agriculture, port infrastructure and freedom of navigation in the Black Sea," Zelenskyy emphasized.

"Russian strikes have already damaged or destroyed 215 port infrastructure facilities in the Odesa region. Despite these difficult circumstances, Ukraine continues to send cargo, including vital food, to countries around the world, including Africa and Asia. Thus, within the framework of the initiative "Grain from Ukraine", critical humanitarian cargo is delivered to a number of countries, including Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Yemen and Sudan," the Head of State noted.

"We hope that our assistance to the Sudanese people will help bring Sudan closer to stability and sustainable peace," the President concluded.
