Zelenskyy relies on partners to support the army's transition to a contract-based system with decent salaries

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy hopes for assistance from partners amid the need for additional funding for decent salaries as part of the transition of the Ukrainian army to a contract-based system, UNN reports.

"We need to transition the Ukrainian army to a contract-based system. Being a member of the military is dangerous, and we must ensure they have decent salaries because they are giving their lives. For this, we need additional funding. Currently, it is not even close to what Russia pays its mercenaries. I very much hope that our friends will help,"

- Zelenskyy said after a meeting with the leaders of the E3 countries in an interview with The Guardian, an excerpt of which he posted on social media.
