Kaja Kallas announced the expansion of the EU sanctions list by 80 new items. The restrictions will target the Russian military-industrial complex, propagandists, and Iran.

The new proposed package of EU sanctions against the Russian Federation, which is to be considered next week, provides for the addition of 80 new entities to the sanctions lists, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas stated on Monday at a press conference during an informal meeting of EU defense ministers in Cyprus, UNN reports.
"Today's exchange of views among ministers once again demonstrated firm unity in supporting Ukraine, as well as in increasing pressure on Russia. The figures speak for themselves: Western sanctions have already cost Moscow approximately 1.2 to 1.5 trillion dollars. For next week's EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting, my services have proposed over 80 new entities for the (sanctions) lists, targeting the Russian military-industrial complex, human rights violators, and propagandists. Brick by brick, we are dismantling the foundations of Russia's war economy,"
Also, according to her, "EU member states in Brussels today approved sanctions against Iranian individuals and legal entities involved in violating transit through the Strait of Hormuz." "The EU is applying its new sanctions regime regarding freedom of navigation for the first time and will apply it again where necessary," she indicated.
