Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara over the weekend, discussing issues including the release of Ukrainian prisoners held by the Russian Federation, as reported by Umerov himself on Monday, UNN writes.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed that "Minister Hakan Fidan met in Ankara with Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine."
They discussed the security situation and further coordination of actions in response to common challenges. Separately, they touched upon the development of joint initiatives in the field of regional security and prospects for practical cooperation.
