Zelenskyy announced the creation of special departments in Germany and Poland for the return of Ukrainians. The President noted that foreign countries would stop social payments to unemployed Ukrainians in the future, which would also be an incentive to return home.

As part of the work on the return of Ukrainians from abroad, the government will set up targeted departments in other countries. They will start with Germany and Poland. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during a meeting with the heads of territorial communities and districts of Transcarpathia, UNN reports.

The President said that the principles of migration policy will be set out in the internal Victory Plan, which is being developed. At the same time, the government plans to strengthen its foreign presence. To this end, the government is creating special departments that will represent human capital. In particular, two representative offices will be established in Poland and Germany.

He called the return of Ukrainians a complicated issue, while noting the fact that foreign governments are determined to keep only those Ukrainians who will work. In particular, he cited statistics showing that about 300,000 Ukrainians in Germany are neither working nor trying to find a job.

Leaders and countries want only those Ukrainians who work to stay in their countries, and they are looking for ways to force those Ukrainians who do not work to return to Ukraine. This part of people will return because social benefits will disappear. Countries will stop helping them as soon as their societies start supporting it

He added that some Ukrainians are waiting for the war to end to return when Ukraine has security guarantees and the economic situation improves.
