In Kramatorsk, a law enforcement officer was exposed for selling grenade launchers and anti-tank grenades via Telegram. The man has been notified of suspicion and remanded in custody, UNN reports, citing the Prosecutor General's Office.

An inspector of one of the paramilitary units of the National Police of Ukraine has been exposed for organizing the illegal sale of ammunition during the war

Details

The investigation established that in February 2024, the senior lieutenant posted an advertisement for the sale of weapons in a closed Telegram group. Subsequently, he met with a buyer at a local cafe to discuss the terms of the deal, after which he brought him to a garage where he stored the arsenal.

There, the law enforcement officer sold two anti-tank grenade launchers and ten high-explosive anti-tank grenades with fuses, receiving 30,000 UAH in return. During the conversation, he also expressed readiness to continue selling weapons and ammunition.

The illegal activity has been stopped. During a search at the suspect's place of residence, two more grenades were seized.

The man has been notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — carrying, storing, purchasing, and selling firearms and ammunition without a legally required permit. The court has ordered a preventive measure in the form of detention with the alternative of posting bail.
