Despite repeated warnings, the vessel "ASOMATOS" was allowed to unload 26.9 thousand tons of stolen Ukrainian wheat in Abu Qir. This is the fourth case of Russia laundering stolen Ukrainian grain in Egyptian ports since April. "ASOMATOS" was allowed to unload even though five days ago, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine sent an official request for legal assistance to the Ministry of Justice of Egypt regarding this illegal cargo, exported by the sanctioned "Agro-Fregat" via occupied Crimea, and provided all necessary data and legal grounds for the seizure of the vessel and its cargo
According to him, Ukraine is a country that for many years played the role of a reliable guarantor of Egypt's food security, and it is unclear why Egyptian partners are repaying Ukraine by continuing to accept stolen Ukrainian grain.
Furthermore, we remind Egypt and all other countries that Ukraine survived a genocide through famine last century, when Moscow ordered the grain to be taken from our people. Now, when Moscow is stealing our grain again, it evokes the worst memories. We call on our Egyptian partners to adhere to international law, their own promises made to us, and the principles of our bilateral relations
He emphasized that stolen goods from occupied territories must be confiscated, not accepted.
Looting is not trade, but complicity, which only fuels further aggression
As a reminder
The Ambassador of the State of Israel to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky, was handed a note of protest at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine due to the de facto admission of imports of stolen Ukrainian grain from the Russian Federation.
