Zelenskyy, after Trump's deal with Iran, reiterated his readiness for a mirror response to Russia's ceasefire

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated his statement about his readiness for a mirror response to Russia's ceasefire, which he announced against the backdrop of US President Donald Trump's announcement of a truce agreement with Iran, writes UNN.

"A ceasefire is the right decision that leads to the end of the war. It saves people's lives, prevents the destruction of cities and villages, allows power plants and other infrastructure to function normally, and therefore, it is the time and necessary conditions for diplomacy to yield results," Zelenskyy wrote on social media.

Ukraine has always called for a ceasefire in the war waged by Russia here in Europe against our state and people, and we support the silence in the Middle East and the Gulf, which opens the way for diplomatic work. Ukraine once again tells Russia: we are ready to respond in kind if the Russians stop their attacks. It is obvious to everyone that a ceasefire can create the right preconditions for agreements

- Zelenskyy emphasized.

The President pointed out that "various countries were involved in the negotiation process, and it is important that the United States took this diplomatic step." "During these weeks, Ukraine is helping to protect lives in the Middle East and the Gulf. Ukrainian expert military teams will continue to work in the region for the further development of security capabilities. The situation in this region has a global impact: any threats to security and stability in the Middle East and the Gulf escalate challenges to the economy and the cost of living in every country," Zelenskyy said.

"That is why security must be guaranteed, and the interests of every nation must be taken into account when determining post-war conditions. It is equally important to protect freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Resolve on this issue also has global significance," the Head of State noted.

"For the right result, active and coordinated actions of the international community are needed. There should be more security after the war, not less. Ukraine will continue to work constructively with all partners. Thank you to everyone who helps!" the President emphasized.

Addition

President Zelenskyy's statement came after US President Donald Trump announced a two-week suspension of attacks on Iran on the night of April 8. Iran and Israel, following the US, agreed to a two-week ceasefire.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha welcomed the ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran and stated that it was time for resolve regarding Russia.
