President Zelenskyy gathered weapons manufacturers and corps commanders at the Staff meeting for the first time. They agreed on a regular communication format coordinated by the Ministry of Defense and the National Security and Defense Council.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a special Staff meeting, where for the first time, weapons manufacturers and corps commanders were gathered. At the meeting, it was agreed that a regular format of such communication between corps, manufacturers, and government structures would be established, coordinated by the Ministry of Defense and the National Security and Defense Council. Another such meeting with other corps commanders is planned for Tuesday. Zelenskyy reported this on Telegram, reports UNN.
Today, following several days of communication with the commanders of our corps who are carrying out the most important combat missions, I held a special Staff meeting. For the first time, there was direct, face-to-face communication between our main weapons and equipment manufacturers and the corps commanders who actually use the products, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Ministry of Finance, as well as the main special services of our state
The Staff meeting was attended by the commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, commanders of the 10th, 11th, and 19th Army Corps, "Khartiia" and "Azov," and representatives of the cream of the new Ukrainian defense sector.
Most of the issues are absolutely practical – regarding real combat needs, delays in supply, unresolved issues in procurement, necessary additional funding and supply contracts: drones of all types and electronic warfare systems, long-range artillery shells, which are needed on virtually every front of intense combat operations, and other equipment. It was agreed that a regular format of such communication between corps, manufacturers, and government structures would be established, coordinated by the Ministry of Defense and the National Security and Defense Council
He added that they separately discussed specific indicators of product defects identified at the level of use in combat units. According to the President, it is important that manufacturers hear such feedback and promptly fix what is necessary.
I have scheduled meetings for tomorrow with other corps commanders: feedback must come from our entire corps system of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. I will continue to determine what adjustments should be made to Ukraine's defense strategy and what priorities in production and supply to the troops should be implemented as quickly as possible. Many questions regarding air defense and, accordingly, tasks for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and our diplomacy in general. I am grateful to everyone today for their frankness, sincerity, and substance. Ukraine must enter August as strengthened as possible and prepare for various scenarios of events and Russia's behavior in the fall
