The President of Ukraine urged the EU to use the unblocked €6 billion as soon as possible for air defense and ammunition. He also asked to prepare a winter aid package with gas and missiles.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on EU countries to use the unblocked 6 billion euros from the European Peace Facility as soon as possible for the needs of Ukrainian defense, and also to begin preparing a winter support package. The head of state stated this during an address to the participants of the European Council meeting, reports UNN.

According to Zelenskyy, the funds should be directed to areas that have already proven their effectiveness on the battlefield.
It is very important that the funds from the European Peace Facility have now been unblocked. That is 6 billion euros. This is a significant amount, it must be used for what truly helps protect lives
Air defense, ammunition, and energy protection
The head of state noted that the funding can be used to strengthen air defense, purchase long-range ammunition, and protect Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

Ukraine asks to prepare for winter
The president also stated that Ukraine seeks to end the war before the onset of winter through diplomatic means and by increasing pressure on Russia, but at the same time, it is necessary to prepare for a possible continuation of hostilities.
If the war continues, we will need a winter aid package. This should include an energy package – gas, diesel, and necessary energy equipment – and a missile package of at least 300 missiles for the winter
Zelenskyy called on European partners to begin preparing such a package now, in parallel with the intensification of diplomatic efforts.
