President Zelenskyy announced the evacuation of 30 Ukrainians from dangerous areas of Lebanon. Among the evacuees are women and children who are already safe in Poland.

Ukraine has organized the evacuation of 30 citizens from Lebanon and we will continue this work. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a video address, UNN reports.

"Our state is currently conducting evacuations in the Middle East from dangerous areas of Lebanon. The GUR, the SZR and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine organized the evacuation of 30 of our citizens - women with children who are now safe. And we will continue this work. Whenever there is a need to help our people somewhere in the world and bring them home, we do and will do it," Zelensky said.

As reported by UNN, the GUR and the MFA organized the evacuation of 30 Ukrainians from Lebanon due to the deteriorating security situation. The evacuees, including 21 women and 9 children, arrived in Poland and are receiving the necessary assistance.

Context

Over the past few days, Israel and the Hezbollah group operating in Lebanon have exchanged a series of strikes. Thus, in the evening of July 27, 12 people were killed in the shelling of the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights - children and teenagers aged 10 to 16. The Israeli authorities blamed Hezbollah for the attack and said that the group had "crossed all the red lines.

"Hezbollah, according to Reuters, is on "high alert" and has "cleared" some key sites in southern Lebanon in case of a possible Israeli attack.
