U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent supported the idea of placing Donald Trump's portrait on a special $250 banknote dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the United States. This was reported by Bloomberg, according to UNN.

During a briefing at the White House, Bessent stated that he sees no problem with the current president appearing on the anniversary bill.
"I don't think there's anything untoward about the President of the United States—the person who is the President of the United States—being on the 250th-anniversary note,"
At the same time, current American law has prohibited placing living people on banknotes or coins for over 160 years. Bessent noted that the decision on a possible relaxation of these rules must be made by Congress.
