This is the latest modification of the Patriot PAC-3 anti-aircraft missile system, which is designed to defeat and destroy tactical ballistic missiles.

The Patriot missile system that is expected to be delivered to Ukraine is likely to be one of two deployed in Athens.

According to the publication, a second Patriot system may also be provided.

Government sources assure that the US has provided "guarantees" of the country's security against the Turkish threat for the duration of the Patriot contract, without specifying what kind of "guarantees" are offered.

There are assurances that if the batteries fail, the United States will replace them with new ones, "and in any case, you will receive money from the $61 billion package provided to Ukraine.

In other words, as with the Patriots delivered to Saudi Arabia, the United States incurred significant costs for re-commissioning because they were not operational or ineffective due to lack of spare parts.

In total, Athens has six Patriot systems, one of which was transferred to Saudi Arabia.
