The United States imposed sanctions against six individuals and companies from China, India, Russia, and Iran for supporting Mahan Air and the IRGC. The sanctioned individuals provided logistical and commercial assistance, and were also used for military operations.
The United States has imposed a new package of sanctions against six individuals and legal entities in China, India, Russia, and Iran, which, according to Washington, support the activities of the Iranian airline Mahan Air and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The department noted that Mahan Air, despite its status as a civilian air carrier, is used to transport weapons, military equipment, and IRGC operatives, and also supports the logistics of Iranian military programs.
Those who provide financial services, logistics, or commercial support to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps or the airline Mahan Air are helping to sustain terrorist activities
Companies from four countries have been sanctioned
The sanctions list includes Chinese companies Shanghai Wings International Logistics and Shanghai Elite International Travel, their manager Tang Xin, Indian Skiez Travels and Logistics, Russian Air Cargo Pro, and the Iranian company DadeNegar.
According to the US Treasury Department, the first five entities provided Mahan Air with logistical, commercial, and agency support, while DadeNegar was used as a front company for the IRGC to support military operations, including gathering intelligence on American and Israeli facilities.
The Treasury Department emphasized that all assets of individuals and companies under US jurisdiction will be blocked, and US citizens and companies are prohibited from conducting any transactions with them. Additionally, sanctions may extend to foreign financial institutions that cooperate with sanctioned individuals.
