Police release video and investigate circumstances of man's death at Ternopil TCC

Ternopil region police released a video from the TCC showing a man entering a restroom followed by a gunshot. Investigators are examining the theory that there was a weapon in his backpack.
Police have released CCTV footage from the Ternopil Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRC), where a man died the day before. The footage shows him entering a restroom with a backpack, after which those present in the corridor hear a sound from inside, presumably a gunshot. The video was released by the head of the Police Department in the Ternopil region, Serhiy Zyubanenko, UNN reports.
"I understand the public resonance. Unverified versions, rumors, and assumptions regarding the circumstances of the man's death are already spreading on social media. That is why, with the permission of the investigator, the prosecutor, and the relevant authorities, we are releasing a fragment of the video of the incident,"
The recording shows a man, accompanied by military personnel and in the presence of civilians, entering one of the premises of the TRC, leaving a bag with some personal belongings in the corridor, and heading to the restroom with a backpack.
After that, he enters the restroom. A few seconds later, a shot is heard, as evidenced by the reaction of the people in the corridor in the video.
However, investigators will examine all details and circumstances: from the moment the man arrived at the TRC, his escort, his stay in the building, until the moment of the shot. The investigation has questions that require clear answers. During the inspection of the scene, investigators seized physical evidence. One of the versions being checked is that the pistol could have been in the man's backpack. At the time of the scene inspection, the backpack in the restroom was open, and items had been removed from it,
He urged people to refrain from premature conclusions, not to spread unverified information, and to trust only official sources.
"The investigation will be conducted objectively and in full, as it is necessary to clarify all the causes and consequences of this event,"
