Poland will work to convene the first intergovernmental conference between the EU and Ukraine no later than June 2024, which will mark the start of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.

Ukraine and Poland have agreed that Warsaw will work on convening the first intergovernmental conference between the EU and Ukraine no later than June 2024. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna on Thursday, UNN reports.

She reported on a "productive" exchange of views with her Polish counterparts "on a full range of issues" within the framework of Ukrainian-Polish intergovernmental consultations led by the Prime Ministers of both countries, Denys Shmyhal and Donald Tusk.

Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO is a vital interest of both countries, with the understanding that Ukraine's security is an integral part of European security. It was agreed that the Republic of Poland will work to convene the first intergovernmental conference between the EU and Ukraine no later than June 2024. Thank you for your support
