According to the State Emergency Service, a large-scale fire near the village of Bilsk in the Rivne region has been liquidated. The fire covered about 90 hectares of the Klesiv forestry, the Rivne Nature Reserve, and the "Selyanskyi Lis" (Peasant Forest) agricultural production cooperative.

In particular, according to the State Emergency Service, the largest fires also broke out in 3 other regions:

  • Zhytomyr region: the liquidation of a large-scale forest fire in the Polissya Nature Reserve continues. The estimated area of the fire is 500 hectares. Strong winds and high air temperatures contribute to the rapid spread of the fire. The situation is complicated by the fact that part of the territory is mined, which prevents rescuers from working fully in certain areas. SES sappers have been brought in for demining. UAVs and robotic equipment are also being used in the firefighting efforts;
    • Kyiv region: the liquidation of a forest litter fire continues in the Exclusion Zone. Currently, the fire has covered 1,180 hectares. Dry weather and sharp gusts of wind contribute to the spread of the fire;
      • Chernihiv region: a forest litter fire continues in the border areas, with an estimated area of 1,200 hectares. Due to the proximity to the border, chaotic mining of territories, and the threat of Russian shelling, the involvement of SES equipment and personnel is currently impossible. Forestry workers are creating mineralized strips to prevent the fire from spreading.

We thank the rescuers, foresters, sappers, and all services working in extremely difficult and dangerous conditions!" the SES emphasized.
